Before becoming what it is today, the building was carefully restored while preserving its original architectural features, including the floors, walls, columns, and decorative carvings.

It has been renovated and transformed into a heritage hotel, maintaining its traditional Damascene character, such as the distinctive interior layout, the liwan (central seating hall), and the intricate decorations on the doors and Roman-style columns.
